This painting I find much more interesting than your recent work.
No deep message is conveyed to me in this piece, which is quite refreshing. A lot of the time one face is painted with multiple eyes to convey mental illness (not trying to say people shouldn't, just that lots do), but I don't sense that here. It's more like you're playing with technique for fun. So in a way this is not an original piece, I can find many with confusing features if I so wished, but this one is different in its lightness of touch.
The technique is outstanding, every eye seems to be in just the right place, the colours are perfect, the way the rest of the face is washed so the eyes and mouth really stand out is again perfect.
This piece looks quite simple at first glance, but it is actually quite unsettling. I don't think it will leave a massive impact, but I will remember it. The way the eyes are painted differently on each side of the face, the different iris colour and the second mouth I find quite haunting. Plus it is so technically brilliant.
In conclusion this is a good piece, just not a mind blowing one. It's hard not to like it though.
